My Trip to Jecheon with Stay Korea
Thanks to Stay Korea’s sponsorship, I had the chance to travel to Jecheon, a beautiful city surrounded by mountains and lakes. During the trip, I enjoyed many fun activities such as riding amusement park attractions and having a delicious Korean-style barbecue with my friends. However, what impressed me the most was our visit to *Jeongbangsa Temple*, located on the top of a mountain. The hike up was not easy, but the breathtaking view from the temple made it all worthwhile. The temple was peaceful and quiet, filled with the sound of wind chimes and the smell of incense. I went there with my foreign friend, and it was really special to share Korean Buddhist culture with someone from another country. Together, we hung *wish lanterns* (소원등) and wrote our hopes for the future. I also showed my friend how to bow with hands together (*hapjang*) and how to drink *yaksu*, the sacred spring water believed to bring good health.
My friend was fascinated by how naturally spiritual and calm the atmosphere was, and I realized how unique and meaningful these traditions are. Visiting Jeongbangsa wasn’t just sightseeing—it was a chance to slow down, reflect, and feel connected to Korean culture on a deeper level.
Overall, my trip to Jecheon was unforgettable. It reminded me that traveling is not only about having fun but also about discovering new perspectives and sharing our culture with others.
